About the webinar
This 6-hour webinar combines evidence-based practice with expert clinical practice in the evaluation and management of chronic groin pain in athletes. The authors and presenters of this webinar will unpack new information regarding the history and new terminology of chronic groin pain in athletes. The presenters also discuss the latest key clinical examination findings associated with injury as well as the pathomechanics behind groin pain in athletes. Crucially, the management strategies in accordance with the sport-specific demands of the athlete are discussed in detail. Updated evidence-based treatment strategies are reviewed with regard to treatment effectiveness whilst also highlighting the gaps in clinical knowledge. An evidence-centric treatment strategy is presented with specific exercise-based videos incorporated to help the clinician with new treatment approaches.

About the authors/presenters
Dr. Alexis Wright, PT, PhD, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Dr. Alexis Wright is an Associate Professor and serves as the Director of Curriculum Assessment in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Tufts University. Dr. Wright is a clinical researcher, educator, and practising physical therapist whose passions include refining and improving the patient examination and treatment process used in everyday physical therapist practice.
Dr. Wright received her BS in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003, a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Duke University in 2006, and a PhD in physical therapy clinical research from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2010. Dr Wright was recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2011 and achieved APTA board-certified orthopaedic specialization in 2015. Dr. Wright is also a 2019 graduate of the Education Leadership Institute Fellowship through the APTA. Dr. Wright is a frequent research presenter at state, national, and international meetings and a productive author with over 45 peer-reviewed manuscripts in orthopaedic physical therapy.
About the authors/presenters
Dr. Steven Dischiavi, PT, DPT, SCS, ATC, COMT
Dr. Dr. Steven Dischiavi is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at High Point University (HPU), as well as the Director of Rehabilitation for the Department of Athletics at HPU. Dr. Dischiavi holds over 20 years of experience in sports medicine, including 10 years with a professional sports team. Dr. Dischiavi served as the team physical therapist and certified assistant athletic trainer for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League from 2004 to 2014, where he gained a specialised treatment approach for the hip and pelvis.
He holds a relatively rare combination of credentials as a licensed physical therapist and a certified athletic trainer, giving him a unique appreciation of athletes. He also holds a manual therapy certification from the Ola Grimsby Institute. He is board certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Sports Clinical Specialist.
